Over use of Computer in wrong posture may cause Cervical Spondylosis



Nowadays each and every office work is done on the computer only. So , long hours on the computer are unavoidable. But it is not easy on the neck of the users. This may cause the problem of cervical spondylosis sooner or later.

1. Pain in the neck & stiffness in the neck . This neck pain may even extend to the shoulders and hands.
2. Headache. This pain may also extend to the top of the head or even to the eyes.

Tips for computer users to avoid cervical pain:
1.User’s head should be in line with the top of the monitor & at a distance of 3ft .
2.The height of the chair should be adjustable.
3. The chair should have good armrests , giving support to the arms and reduces the stress on the shoulders and the neck.
4.The back of the chair should give good support to lower back.
5.One should be sitting straight in the chair and his/her lower back should touch lower back of the chair. A light pillow can be used against the lower back if the  chair does not provide enough support.

Precaution:
1.Take frequent breaks to avoid cervical pain
2. Avoid large thick pillow while sleeping
3. Do neck-muscle building exercises
